Clementine’s Nightmare: A P&E Brawler Game that Rewards Loyal Supporters

Humans are most motivated by the reward system

Ever since Skinner developed the theory of positive reinforcement in the mid 1900s, it is commonly known that any behavior that is rewarded will be repeated. This is the principle of positive reinforcement. Humans are driven by knowing that their hard work will pay off, and they get to experience a sense of fulfillment from what they have achieved. The most successful video games today tap into this principle so that their gamers keep coming back for more.

Clementine’s Nightmare is an upcoming P&E brawler game that centers around a reward system. Through their P&E economy, players gain total ownership of all assets purchased, which capitalizes on a universal need for humans to have a sense of ownership. As NFTs are taking over the world by storm, they have quickly become a social status symbol. The more valuable our assets, the better we feel about ourselves.

The P&E reward system combined with total player ownership is a sure-win formula for high player retention rate and the inevitable increase in value of the game itself. Backed by Big Red Button Entertainment, Clementine’s Nightmare may be on a path for building an incredible AAA gaming experience that gets players hooked to the game by meeting their deepest need for total control and ownership.

A player-driven and player-owned economy keeps players engaged

Since the key to long-term success for any game is dependent on player adoption, Clementine’s Nightmare creatively crafted a P&E system that encourages players to level up their heroes in order to convert them into high-value NFTs. The in-game heroes have attached customizations and characteristics that affect their total value. Only high-level heroes can be exported as NFTs, which encourages players to keep playing the game in order for the hero to reach a high level. These heroes can then be sold on the open marketplace.

Because heroes can be exported onto any Web3 blockchain, players have the freedom to use the market of their choosing. On top of this, players can look forward to earning Ink (the in-game currency), which can be converted to $INK tokens and be used on any supported Web3-enabled blockchain. The flexibility and freedom given to players is certainly a huge characteristic of this game that will give players the sense of ownership that they are always looking for.

Early supporters of the game benefit from accumulated Ink

One of the unique features that Clementine’s Nightmare offers is an innovative dashboard system on their website that tracks rewards for NFT holders. Since making their debut with the Genesis Collection of 5,000 NFTs in February 2022, they have revealed a roadmap with four phases of NFT launches for early supporters. In a nutshell, the longer the holder owns an NFT, the more Ink they earn, which can ultimately be converted to $INK tokens. This system of reward accumulation over time contributes to a high player/holder retention rate before the game even launches on accumulated Ink.

Not only do holders get to earn Ink from simply owning an NFT, but they also get the ‘Master Key Pass’, which gives them early access to the game and additional rewards for being an early supporter. For those who invested in the Genesis Collection, they also gain a slight bonus over the rest of the collection with a 15% boost to all Ink rewards. Their characters are foundational to the narrative of the game, which gives holders a deep sense of worth and value. The Eclipse Collection of 10,010 NFTs also grants holders early access and special characters to use in the game once it is launched.

Access to the community alpha network creates transparency and builds trust within the community

If an early access pass and increased Ink airdrop is not enough, holders of the Clementine’s Nightmare NFTs also get exclusive access to the community alpha network. Benefits include presale spots for other projects, access to real-life NFT conference events hosted by Clementine’s Nightmare, private AMAs with the team, and even free mints from their Project Neighborhood collection.

All of these benefits will help to eliminate doubts within the community by answering their questions on a regular basis and connecting with them personally. While building trust and establishing credibility within the community takes time, Clementine’s Nightmare has taken tangible steps to reassure their supporters that they are all in. Their transparency from the get-go lends to their credibility and will ultimately give them a head start in establishing a solid community of supporters.

In addition to building their foundational group of supporters, they also uplift other NFT projects by giving holders access to other partner communities. Whether we admit it or not, everyone wants to belong to a community of people with shared interests. It is refreshing to see an up-and-coming team that not only establishes community for themselves but also includes other communities for even greater engagement. Players are more likely to stick with a team that values their presence and support from the start.

Clementine’s Nightmare is a potentially worthy investment

With that said, it seems like Clementine’s Nightmare is off to a promising start. Driving high player retention rate by minting many NFT collections early on, rewarding early supporters with increased Ink airdrops, and establishing credibility through transparency sets them apart from their competitors. They have invested a lot of time and intentional planning into their timeline and NFT collections, as well as building a community that will stand the test of time and the ever-fluctuating climate of the NFT gaming industry.
Because Clementine’s Nightmare is a free-to-play, hero brawler 3-vs-3 multiplier game with multiple modes, there is not much narrative behind the game. According to the team, game development is still in progress, so only time will tell how well the narrative will keep players hooked. There may be a concern that players might quickly get bored from just brawling with other players over and over again, but then again, there will also be players who are only looking to brawl.

For now, the early minted NFTs seem like a good investment because holding them for a long time will increase its value and reward the holder with Ink and other exclusive benefits. But the quality of the game is uncertain, and this will likely affect the long-term adoption and value of the game and its NFTs as a whole. In my humble opinion, I certainly think that they are worth a shot, and I look forward to seeing their roadmap of NFT collections and game releases play out in the near future.
